Yes, I did get an iPhone

iPhone Podcasts. Here is a posting I put up about the thing:

I’ve had diffuclty sync’ing my calendars (but nothing else) and many of my old ipod cables (a mini ipod firewire, and my car’s FM & power cable) seem suspect. Not sure if the old cables work with the new machine. But this thing has raised the bar for every phone company that is out there. Remember the first ipods weren’t exactly perfect vs. the Rio’s and Creatives that were out there at the time, and this doesn’t necessarily have every feature, but the interface is intuitive and that alone means the death knell for some handset manufacturer in the next five years. Yup. For those waiting for v.2, you can always wait for a better piece of technology, but then you can also find yourself in an endless circle. Technology is supposed to used, and I think if you are the kind of person who needs the features and services that something like iPhone v.1 offers, then buy it now and USE IT NOW. I figured the price somewhere like this: ipod Nano 8gb $249 New mobile phone $99 (I needed a new one) On the go web/email $200 (value to me, because of work) Coolness factor $0, well, it’s probably worth a few bucks to me Final Value of the iphone: $549 I paid $599, so quite honestly, I’m happy.

Libby out of jail

The press and Dems batter the guy every single day for years and then think he actually cares what something like this does to him politically? Former senator Alan K. Simpson (R-Wyo.) said that Libby’s 30-month sentence was “wretched excess” and that Bush did the right thing, no matter what the political consequences are. “Why should anyone worry about that?” Simpson asked. “He gets hammered every day. They don’t think George is doing anything right, so what do you lose?”]]>

Movie Review: Breach

Robert Hanssen, the FBI’s worst spy and former director of Soviet counter-intel. Hanssen was able to dodge investigators for years, primarly because he was in charge of finding himself. Shades of Deep Throat, Mark Felt who was put in charge of finding Deep Throat. Anyway, pretty good movie, but one to watch when you can give it your full attention to get more of the suspense.]]>

What the hell was that?

So I’m out on the boardwalk, blue skies, big puffy clouds, when I look up Annapolis way and it is black. I mean deep storm black. Within about three minutes, the sand was blowing, the surf was up, and beach chairs were blowing all over the place. A monster storm just popped on top of us, knocked out power (but not here) and generally wreacked havoc in 10 minutes.

And it is about to get worse]]>

When guys you thought about killing end up saving your life

When guys you thought about killing end up saving your life, you are in for a change of your views. The Post writes about a Navy Seal badly wounded and dying in the mountains of Afghanistan, saved (and protected) by some local villagers while the Taliban demanded his head. The Post’s story writes about the day the SEALS died (3 of the 4 SEALs were killed) and a rescue Chinook of 16 went down (all died) trying to save the one wounded soldier. Interesting read.]]>
