What we're watching tonight
My bracket is not entirely out of it, but boy is flipping a coin not exactly the best idea. Since you can generally pick the winners of the first round of March Madness, maybe next year I’ll only flip a coin in round 2. Though I did get Western Kentucky advancing all the way to the Elite 8 which has worked out well as they seem to be on a roll.

Friday is a pretty big day as I head back to Notre Dame for the first time in….god…six years!?! Yes, it was 2002 April when we told Father Hesburgh that we were getting married. He thought that was nice and all, but that we had to go out and basically get his blessing before we did so. Needless to say, when Father Ted says “come talk to me about getting married” we hopped on a plane, flew out to South Bend, and talked to him about getting married (and about the SR-71 Blackbird, Gene Kranz and the book Failure is Not an Option [which I was reading at the time], the time Father Ted was almost named head of NASA, and a few other things). This trip should be a bit more relaxed. We’re going to see Father Ted again but also a few other folks in South Bend that we haven’t seen in a long time. I understand the law school is getting remodeled and campus has probably changed a bit since we were last living there. We’ll have some pictures up, probably sometime next week.

My old websites PenguinRadio.com and PodcastDirectory.com are now rewritten into Trumix.com. Of course there is a lot more work to do like trying to recover the traffic that goes with switching a name / site from one domain to another, but take a look as the content their is checked and rechecked far more than the previous sites were every examined.

We traded the folks the other day. They’d get a ride to K-mart to buy really cheap and crappy clothes and in exchange, we’d get to go to the movies by ourselves (for the first time in months). So we ended up with the Other Boleyn girl. Bummer. It wasn’t that great. It basically was a story we’ve seen and heard a zillion times before, and one that is going on again on the Showtime series The Tudors but this supposedly told more about the time ‘before Henry VIII met Anne’ which might be interesting. Of course, it was wildly inaccurate, as I later learned through checking Wikipedia.
The new season of the Turdor’s starts next week, but we have episode 1 already on demand. I called it up after the movie, and after three minutes fell asleep.

A fully-equipped hospital that lay unused for two years has burned to the ground in northern Nigeria.
The General Hospital in Maiduguri was built in 2006 but the state government refused to open it until the president came to cut the ribbon.

The Black Book is a WWII story (fictional) about a woman who works for the resistance as a spy inside the Nazi Headquaters.  Based in the Hague (it’s a Dutch film, in Dutch) it is a pretty interesting mystery / thriller as the woman falls for the lead SS commander, while at the same time passing information to the resistance and eventually being fingered as a double agent. The lead actress is kind of a babe, and the lead actor is the same as the lead in the movie ‘The Lives of Others’ which is a must rent if you are looking for another suspenseful tale. And as it is a Dutch movie, there is plenty of nudity. ]]>
