The non-lunch eating cops have just decided to board a nearby ship. These little freighters carring three rows of containers come down the Pearl River where they offload directly onto the large ocean going vessels. Cops love to stop them and check everyone’s papers and stuff. Who know what they might find. I’ll stay tuned (it’s just outside my house) though I suspect it happens 100 times a day.]]>
Everyday around lunch, this police boat stops by in front of my building and three cops jump off to go get some Chinese food. Actually, since I’m in HK, I guess it’s just “food”. My apartment is right on the water and a number of water cops, ship captains and pilots live in the buildings next door. All day long small vessels come upto the side and guys jump on and off, kind of like a taxi stand for boats. Would drive the Dept of Homeland Security types in DC totally bonkers.]]>

This is “Grumpy Man Sushi” which is really called Genki Sushi. We started calling it that because of the logo, but also because there is this noodle shop all over Hong Kong with a big picture of a smiling, pig-tailed girl. I call that “Happy Girl Noodles” but don’t know the real name, yet.
