The Moscow Times reports that a government run entity Sistema will likely not be able to control the Shermatevo airport contract after a new tender bid. Although the Sistema met the requirements of $2 billion pounds in assets, the terms of the contract said the $2 billion had to be audited by one of the “”Big 4″” accounting groups. In international business parlance, the Big Four designates accounting firms Deloitte & Touche, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young. The tender, however, leaves out Deloitte, which audits Sistema, and lists Baker McKenzie, a law firm, in its place. Just in case you were wondering how corruption works, here is a good example.]]>
The BBC is reporting that Moroccan smugglers are puting tape recorders on the back of donkeys with the words “”walk”” so that the donkeys will keep moving as they smuggle goods over 200 miles of desert. The police have simply started shooting the donkeys, leading to an uproar from some quarters.]]>

I finished updating all of PenguinRadio’s European pages, but now I have to fix all of the USA States (I did California, now on to the rest). 360 pages in PenguinRadio’s regional section–all static. Time to make them dynamic so I can build them on the fly as needed. I’m also planning on writing a Sherlock module so I can search radio stations on PenguinRadio direct from the desktop. Three mountain lion kittens got stuck on some railroad tracks after walking through a creek and then climbing on the rails in 10 degree weather. A track inspector had to pour hot water on them to free them from the rail, but then ran off when their mother showed up (i.e. big lion).]]>
