Cops have to eat

Every day at 11:00 this is the scene outside of the house. A Customs Enforcement boat comes up to the seawall and drops off about a few cops who go to lunch in the neighborhood. The relationship with the water and those who work on it is kind of casual. Boats come up to the wall all day and all night with people jumping on and off as if it was boarding a subway train. Sometimes I see them come of the pilot boats with little lunch boxes, just as if they were coming off the late shift.]]>

Voting

The US Consulate in Hong Kong has partnered with Fedex to provide Free Return of Ballots for the election. I just faxed in my request, and should get a fax back of my ballot shortly. Now just to figure out how to vote for…. yeah right.]]>

Computer books

ipodcasting system, some of it successful and some of it a real pain. I’ve had to learn a lot about XML and RSS feeds, and it turns out the system of RSS is a real mess. There are about 9 different standards in use today, and no one can seem to agree on which is best. Google pushes one, the bloggers another (and even they are split). It’s quite an annoyance. ]]>
