36 Quai des Orf?®vres is the address of the French police, kind of like Scotland Yard is in the UK. Two police captains are angling for a promotion, but they first have to find and eliminate a violent gang of armored car robbers (sounds like Heat). They also have some unspoken hostility toward one another regarding a woman (after all, it is a French film). The movie is kind of a cop movie for the first half, with some rough stuff and explosions, but then turns into a kind of thriller / political movie in the second half as plot twists start to jump at you. The ending serves justice well, though you could kind of guess the last plot twist before it happens. Anyway, not sure if it is out in America, but worth seeing when it does arrive. ]]>

Ok, these are not from Shenzhen, but the south side of Hong Kong in a village called Shek-o as in “Oh Shek-o here comes another Typhoon that will kill us all” (it’s really low to the water, as you will see from the beach).

Shenzhen today, just over the border from Hong Kong. Actually a bit of a milestone in that this will be the first border I’ve crossed by train. I’ve done plane, I’ve done car, and I’ve done a boat, but never a train. Of course, I’m travelling with a group of friends which means everyone has to get this and that ready and it is going to take forever to do simple things. But we’ll get by I suspect. ]]>
